An important part of the WHF mission is to raise awareness and acknowledge our wounded and the sacrifices they have made. The WHF will do this by:
    •
Marketing our organization to the community at large in order to raise funds and awareness.
    •
Build a broad base of volunteers and contributors.
    •
Ensure that our local wounded service members and their families understand that our community appreciates their sacrifice and service.
    •
Host the families of our wounded, as well as the local reservists and active military duty at a benefit dinner in March, 2009.
    •
In conjunction with “Cooks of the Valley”, travel to the Walter Reed Medical Center, serving patients and their families dinner, providing hospital visits and care packages highlighting the best of Bakersfield, entertainment, and flying local family members of patients to the dinner (volunteers will cover their personal travel expenses).
Please join the WHF in supporting this worthwhile cause. This is your chance to give back to the individuals who have given so much for us.
